After capturing over 30 wedding days, they start to feel familiar—the emotional first looks, the classic traditions, the sweet moments, and the wild late-night party. But getting to photograph a wedding for family? That hits completely different.
Growing up, my cousin Eric felt like an older brother to me. His sister Julie and I were practically inseparable, which meant countless sleepovers, rainy days spent jamming out on Rock Band, and our favorite past-time: endlessly annoying Eric in the den at the cottage. Fast forward a few years, and I had the privilege of getting to know Jamie, first as my teammate on the swim team, and later as my coworker at the pharmacy!
Knowing them both in such totally different seasons of life, I never could have predicted I’d be photographing their wedding day. But honestly? They are the absolute perfect match. Jamie brings that fun, vibrant, wild energy that pulls Eric right out of his shell, while Eric’s calm, steady nature grounds Jamie so beautifully. They are the definition of a perfect balance, and that magic was everywhere on their wedding day.
We kicked off the morning at the iconic Cobalt Train Station. Downstairs with Eric, the vibe was classic, cool, calm, and collected (with just a few pre-ceremony nerves!). But walking upstairs to the Bunk House suite? Whole different story! Brianna’s playlist was keeping the vibes extra high, and Jamie’s excitement was so contagious you could feel it the second you walked into the room.
Those two energies melted together seamlessly for the sweetest, most relaxed ceremony where their closest family and friends witnessed their commitment to each other. The rest of the day was pure joy—endless mingling, an incredible meal, and emotional speeches and first dances before the party got wild. Safe to say, this crew really knows how to celebrate!
Jamie and Eric, witnessing your love story come full circle was such a priviledge. I am so happy for you both. Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Studholme!
